Breast lift

The purpose of this surgery is to change the position of the breast and to surgically lift it to the desired position. When there is enough breast tissue, breast lift can be performed by reshaping the existing breast tissue.
What problem does it solve:
During the surgery the breast tissue is reshaped in a way that lifts the breasts up.

Jonas Drąsutis MD/PhD

The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia. The surgery lasts for 3-4 hours. During the surgery, the incisions are made around the nipple, down from the nipple to the inframammary fold and inside the imframammary fold. Following the surgery, the surgical scar resembles a “T” shape. After surgery, the patient is transferred to the reanimation ward for further observation. Within 1-2 hours following the completion of the surgery, as long as there are no complications, the patient is transferred to their room.

The surgery eliminates the sagginess of the breasts. The nipple and the entire breast are lifted upwards. Following the surgery, the breasts are initially positioned a little bit higher, because over time, they shift downwards because of gravity and a more natural breast appearance is achieved.

  • Refrain from physical activity and exercise for 6-8 weeks.
  • Following the surgery, wear a compress bra for 6-8 weeks.
  • In the first weeks after the surgery, avoid raising your arms above your head as it might result in implants changing their position.
  • Following the surgery, the patients are advised to remain at the hospital under observation for at least 2 days. Only upon confirmation that the patient’s condition is good, can outpatient treatment be recommended.
  • Places of surgical incisions should be re-bandaged every 2-3 days.
  • Lymphatic drainage massage is recommended for the first two months following the surgery.
  • Surgery seams are removed about 10-12 days after the surgery.
